The 2017 Landscape Painting Workshop
This workshop will be held on September 18th-20th, immediately following and building off of the 14th-16th workshop. The 18th through the 20th will be a more advanced workshop on painting Landscapes. If you already have the basic look down, this workshop is to get your skills dialed in even better. I’ll be demonstrating my favorite techniques for maximizing depth, and dramatic lighting and composition. If you’re at a beginner level, you are still welcome to sign up as long as there is room. There’s always cool things to learn being around other artists. Canvas and paint will be provided. I will ask that you bring a couple sizes of flat synthetic bristle brushes. I expect this workshop to be largely question driven as experienced painters will know exactly what they want to work on. So I will be in question answering mode for a good portion of the time to better serve everyone.
Schedule: The exact schedule is still in the making but you can plan on 8 hour days, Monday-Wednesday, starting around 9:00AM with a couple good breaks and lunch. There will be snack provided at the workshop.
Location/Hotels: There are a lot of hotels in the area. Hotels on Lucky Lane are a short drive away and popular among travelers being close to supermarkets and convenience stores. The workshop is close to East Rt. 66 at 1919 N. Fourth St. to be exact. There are many locally owned hotels along Rt. 66 that are cheaper and probably not as nice but still safe. The train that travels through town can be a bit noisy if your closer to Rt. 66.
